Register your group early! Due to parking lot construction, bus parking and therefore school group admission, is limited.

Groups of 20+ from K-12 schools, preschools, licensed year-round daycares, head start programs and organized home schools can enjoy discounted field trip admission by registering & paying for their visit at least one week in advance!

 

Field Trip Pricing

Who qualifies?

School group rates apply only to:

  • K-12 schools
  • Preschools
  • Licensed year-round daycares
  • Head start programs
  • Organized home schools

To qualify for the school group rate, each group must:

  • Provide a copy of their school's tax-exempt form (if tax- exempt)
  • Have 20 or more students
  • Register and pay for their visit at least one week in advance.

Students (ages 2-18)

Title 1 Schools: $5*
Out Of State Title 1 Schools: $7*
MNPS Not Title 1: $7
Tax-Exempt Schools: $8
All Other Schools: $10

*School must be marked eligible on the most recent Department of Education Title I Schools List

Adults

1 teacher/chaperone admitted FREE per every 10 students
Additional teachers or chaperones outside of the 1 free per 10 paid students will be $16*

*Rate is only valid if paying through the school group in advance

Parking

Buses - Free parking
Parents/Chaperones - $8.00

Add Lunch

Hot dog or deli sandwich meal - $11

Meal voucher (9th - 12th grades) - $15

Add Attraction Tickets

Enhance your visit to the Zoo by experiencing one of our in-park attractions. Nashville Zoo offers attraction tickets to school groups at a special discount rate.

Regular Attraction Tickets: $1.50 per ticket (normally $2 per ticket)

  • Lorikeet Landing Feeding Experience: 1 ticket 
  • Soaring Eagle Zip Line: 4 tickets (Riders must be at least 42" tall)
  • Wild Animal Carousel: 1 ticket (Riders must be at least 42" tall)
  • Wilderness Express Train Ride: 1 ticket (Recommended for preschool-aged children)

Seasonal Attraction Tickets: $2 per ticket (normally $4 per ticket)

Scholarship Opportunities

Spring 2025 scholarship applications will be available from January 6th - February 7th.

The Nashville Zoo Education Scholarship provides funds for K-12 schools with demonstrated financial need. Priority is given to Title I and/or economically disadvantaged schools.  scholarship application here.

Nashville Zoo has created Field Trip packets as a resource for school groups. Each packet contains standard-aligned activities designed to guide learning before, during, and after your visit, as well as helpful tips to make planning your field trip a breeze!

This packet is a great resource for field trip chaperones, as it includes tools to help them confidently guide their group through the Zoo!

Registration & Payment

Field trips are limited and are booked on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please note: Mondays are blocked off for field trips.

Registration Timeline: Since full payment is required one week prior to your visit, please complete a registration form at least 10 days before your visit. We recommend registering within a month of your visit. After you submit a registration form, a Zoo staff member will provide you with payment instructions.

Payment & Refund Policy: We accept credit cards and checks only. Your payment must be received at least one week prior to your visit. No refunds will be issued for absent students or extra adults. 

If your group is ordering lunches, we will need to know 3 days in advance if you are going to cancel/ reschedule. If notice is not received by the 3-day cut-off, and lunches are made, you will not be refunded for the order. If you wish to have lunches on the rescheduled date, you will have to place another order.
